Almost 100-years-ago Australian adventurer Francis Birtles completed the first epic overland drive from London to Melbourne in a Bean 14 roadster.
Modern day adventurers Warren Brown, cartoonist with The Daily Telegraph and the paper’s Editor At Large Matthew Benns have now recreated that journey in the same model Bean 14 open topped sportster.
It is a journey of extremes; freezing alpine passes and blistering deserts, narrow misses, extraordinary characters and staggering challenges.
The story of those two epic journeys in the same model Bean 14 almost 100 years apart has now been captured in this stunning, full-colour glossy coffee-table book.
